Public Sector Procurement Breakfast

How can we make public sector procurement work better for architectural practices?

Last week, we hosted a Public Sector Procurement Breakfast at our studio with Chris Williamson, the RIBA President Elect and leading practices. Together, we tackled some of the biggest hurdles in public sector procurement and explored ways to create a system that works for everyone.

Key discussions included:
➡️ The challenges of navigating complex bidding processes
➡️ The financial strain these systems place on practices
➡️ The impact of new fire safety legislation
➡️ Issues with planning processes and building regulations
➡️ How to move towards a fairer, more effective approach

It was energising to hear so many honest insights and see the willingness to drive change in 2025.

We want to keep the conversation going: What’s the one change you’d make to improve public sector procurement for architects? Share your ideas via our LinkedIn page or in the comments below.
