Work Starts on New Apartments in Wanstead

Construction is underway on a residential development of seven one-, two- and three-bed apartments we designed in Wanstead, East London.

Bringing new homes to a prominent corner site nearby the town centre, the development at Elm Close also includes a private roof terrace with lush garden planters and secure cycle storage to encourage sustainable travel.

Taking cues from the surrounding interwar architecture, particularly the double storey terraces, our design features a material palette of red, buff and dark grey brick alongside obscured glazing for privacy. The four-storey building has a stepped back massing to ensure it forms a natural part of the streetscape and our proposal also includes the retention of existing trees.

Work is due to complete in 2024.
