New Homes for Old Harlow High Street

Eight new apartments will be built on Old Harlow’s High Street after planning permission was granted for a brownfield redevelopment.

On behalf of Willowcity Estates Limited, our design will revitalise a previously developed site on the High Street with a new part two/part three-storey building, that:

  • Respects the neighbours by moving away from the heritage asset.

  • Includes simple, rhythmic, rear elevation, minimising stepping, and responding to the previous planning application feedback.

  • Includes a simple architectural aesthetic that does not compete with the heritage assets or interrupt the character of the conservation area.

Finally, from a sustainability standpoint, we’ve ensured that the development will be efficient in terms of energy and resource consumption but also comfortable for future occupants without the need to rely on mechanical systems.
